Can I claim back Mortgage PPI even if Ive used it

I changed mortgage provider to natwest about 3 years ago due to my previous mortgage term running out. I got made redundant in January 2009 and used the PPI to help with the payments.
Can I claim back the PPI even if I used it?

Anyone Help?

The fact that you were able to claim suggests that you had a need for the cover (and were aware of its existence).

Therefore you are only likely to have a complaint upheld if it was a single premium policy and that premium was added to the loan.

Just to be clear, you were eligible for the PPI, it was obviously suitable, it was fit for purpose as it paid out, but you want your money back?

MPPI has much lower success rates at complaint than other types of PPI. Even the FSA recognised this in their report. Generally, it is only single premium MPPI and those that were not eligible that get upheld complaints on MPPI. You were eligible (so you can eliminate that) and that just leaves you with single premium (which we dont know).
