can someone please explain this to me, and what I need to do to put it right.

Son was given an ITUNES card we tried to use it but had to sign up with ITUNES before we could.........
However everytime he thinks he is using the money on his card to buy songs etc it goes straight onto my credit card.
SO
What are we doing wrong?
How does he use the money off the ITUNES card without it being charged to me??
Why did we have to sign up with ITUNES b4 he could use the card?
What should I do now?
I know its a long shot but any help would be appreciated:beer:

they make you sign up for an account so that you (and they) can keep track of your purchases, quite handy if you need to download anything again!
i seem to remember having to add the voucher into the account (had this issue when i tried to surprise my gf with an iphone and had to register my card!!)
searching on the apple site this is their instructions:
Download iTunes for Mac or PC, free of charge, at www.apple.com/uk/itunes/download.
Open iTunes and click iTunes Store.
Click Redeem in the Quick Links tab.
Enter the code printed on your Gift Card when requested.
Start downloading and enjoy.
