I am very tempted by the Smart television
This one in particular http://www.dixons.co.uk/gbuk/samsung-ue37d5520-37-full-hd-led-tv-10078472-pdt.html
What "dongle" do I need? Am I being tempted by Samsung's own when there is probably a far cheaper alternative out there?

Specifications should tell you what you need . If its like the Sony Bravia it requires Sony expensive dongle that only works on Sony TV and useless for anything else .My workaround was a pair of powerline plugs as they can be used for other stuff .
