Stuck on Atlantic deal to Sept 30th

Hello everyone

I am in a contract with Atlantic til Sept 30th and would have to pay an exit fee if I switched now for duel fuel supply.

I have signed up with EDF on their 3 year fixed and they won't start processing application til Oct 1st. Can anyone advise me on the following:

1. Is there anyway I can arrange things so a new supplier can start on Oct 1st, so that the switch will have been done by then? I thought it took 6 weeks to change supplier?
2. Have EDF prices gone up, or will they be increased by the time I switch? Is it still a good deal?
3. Atlantic have offered to put me on their Atlantic Internet tariff, "discounted rate" apparently. Is this a good deal?
4. Any tips on fixed price deals would be appreciated.

Any comments much appreciated.

Signing up 4 weeks prior should ensure that you are not on supply before 30/9 anyway.
No one can say if Fix 2014 will still be on offer by end Sept.
Please explain how you have signed up with EDF on the basis that they won't start processing the switch for a month? It's not normally possible to reserve a tariff in this fashion-once you sign up, they begin the switch.
Ifyou wait until 1/10, then you will be on Atlantic Standard tariff for 4-5 weeks.
EDF have yet to announce their price increase.

Yes but only £35. Surely its a "no-brainer" whether it gets charged or not?

As you have already applied, and the deal is fixed, you will get the rates applicable on the date you applied.

You need to consult a comparison site ... if you have not already done so.

If you want a fixed deal, choose the cheapest (unless you have good reason not to) by consulting a comparison site.

How is it a no brainer? You mean the savings from new deal outweigh the exit fee? :)

Yes. As should have been clear from the comparison.

If you do not stay with Atlantic until your 12th direct debit on your fix you will lose your one month direct debit money paid direct into your bank account [yours free to spend] I received mine each year £100. Great service too
