Holidays in October

I know this is an regular topic but I'm struggling!

Looking to go short haul-ish destination from Scotland, around 7th of October for a week.
2 adults and a one year old.

Looking for some beach\sun and a bit of culture, or reasonable town at least.

Looked at Antalya but all the resorts seem a little remote an would rather have a somewhere to escape to for a few hours every day.

What will south coast of Spain be like?

Or Canaries?

Or any other suggestions?

Budget is around £1000.

Turkey will be warmer than southern spain at the end of Oct but canaries will be better still. Was in Gran Canaria staying just outside Puerto Rico getting good prices for decent hotels atm may be worth a look around. Got a friend with a appartment outside Corrajio Furterventura sleeps 4 if you want to look for flights there Ask if you want more info about that.

I think these days you pays your money and takes a chance with weather. Traditionally the rain start for the Nerja festival which is that week... it then usually clears after that so I would avoid then myself for there.

Canaries should be better, altho I myself have been unlucky ther too... What about Egypt I think would come in on budget and with a good hotel

We went to Valencia in the second week of October 6 years ago - it was warm enough for us to spend time on the beach. The Algarve is also worth a look.

Disagree, sorry! Been to Antalya in early Oct and it was low twenties and quite a few overcast rainy days.
Been to southern Spain at that time and temps well into the mid/high twenties still.
Costa del Sol is still hot well into Dec. When we were there last December it was still 26 degrees in Marbella :)
Agree with the comment about Egypt. We are often there at that time and there is not a cloud in the sky. To get the real culture you would have to visit Luxor or Cairo though.
Been to Rhodes in October and that was also still very warm. It does rain at that time but you could be lucky and not see it for a week. Lots of culture there in Rhodes Town and Lindos. I would personally stay somewhere down south as it is warmer, somewhere like Lindos, Pefkos or Kalathos.

Have a look at Lanzarote, the weather is glorious there in the first 2 weeks of October (we've been for the last 4 years on the trot then and back again this October).

It's as quiet or not as you like too, with amazing clean beaches :)
