Has anyone seen these wifi skype phones that have been released and are they any good

With them connecting via wifi won't you need a password to access the wifi unless it is unsecured or do they work in a different way?

I may be tempted if it wasn't for the cost and mainly that you have to use skype which is nowhere near the cheapest if you are calling landlines.
