PPI claim and bankruptcy

Morning all.
I wonder if someone can help me.
I have recently made a claim from the FSCS regarding a welcome finance loan i had in 2005. subsequently I have since recieved a letter saying they will be back in touch in the next 30 days.
However, my question is, although my Welcome finance loan was paid and settled early I was made bankrupt in 2009 (young silly and stupid) I know, but Welcome wasnt added to my bankruptcy as it was settled. Im just a littled confused though by some posts im reading. If the fscs do award me my ppi back, which they should, will that be taken by the official reciever to pay for other debts. I have been discharged a long time now. But I was just wondering if anyone knew. Or will it not be included or involved with that all as it was totally seperate.
THank you Just a little confused.

I think (although I could be mistaken, so anyone else feel free to correct me) that because it relates to your finances from before your bankruptcy / discharge then I'm afraid the Official Receiver may well have a claim on it. In a sense, the refund was an unclaimed asset - if it had been claimed earlier it would have been used to pay some debts.0

Thank you for this reply. yeah its a confusing one as I have looked and cannot find the answers anywhere. They are all refering to if the debt was added to the bankruptcy and mine wasnt. I suppose time will tell. We live and learn as they say. Thank you though.

I was hoping that may be the case. Especially with this particular debt as it wasnt added to the bankruptcy. my circumstances have changed dramatically and I could really benefit from the cash for my littlen so fingers crossed.
My Bankruptcy was a case of being young and niaeve to the whole credit system and if I could relive my youth I would never have gone down that road. (but we live and learn)
If this is successful I will aim to claim back charges and ppi from the bankrupt debts (providing I am able) knowing that they may take the money to pay the debts, but It will be worth it though to show I didnt actually owe as much as they claim i did and that can then be rectified on my credit report. I can understand and appreciate them taking those payments. But not this one. I mean If welcome wouldnt of charged me so much in the first place, then I wouldnt of got in a bad situation with the others.
Thank you for your responses to my question. Its all a big learning curve, but ill get there (keen to amend my credit rating too, so all worth it):)0
