topping up oil?

I seem to remember that Audis are notorious for oil consumption (diesel more than petrol). Believe that the issue is worse if the original owners didn't run it hard when it was new, as the seals don't bed down as well as they can hence results in excessive oil consumption. Certainly it's normal for them to need top ups between services, indeed in some cases as much oil as is actually replaced at the service.

As others have said, don't rely on the warning light to tell you.
