IKEA fitted wardrobes

I have just moved so am on a very tight budget.
I am on the look-out for good value fitted wardrobes. Someone recommended the PAX range from IKEA but when I look in the catalogue they seem to be standard wardrobes.
Are the PAX range fitted wardrobes? Does anyone recoemend them or anywhere else in W London? Do IKEA sell panels to fill in any spare space?
Thanks!

Pax are standalone units, not fitted wardrobes as such. However it may be possible to have several joined together to fit your space. They come in 2 heights so may well be at ceiling height in your room anyway. You can have large sliding doors across the run if you prefer. You can usually pick up extra pieces from the 'damaged or ex display' section in the store to use as fillers.
If you prefer to go the fitted wardrobe route, Space slide and Sliderobes are apparently quite good. Much more expensive though.Herman - MP for all!0 -
We have just installed 2x1000mm PAX wardrobes at my son's place. They are brilliant. Although, they are free standing, they also intended to be fixed to the wall for stability. They are fixed together and a sliding door track goes across the pair of them. Some of the design details are very clever. There are a variety of door finishes, we used smoked glass. The whole lot, including shelves, hanging rails, drawers, and extending low level hanging racks for trousers etc) cost less than £500 including delivery. You can get a couple of different widths and two different heights. We were most impressed with design details and the quality and the whole job including the fitting out of the insides was easily completed in 1 day. I recommend that two persons should do the work together, as some of the panels are quite heavy.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
I had this week-end STOLMEN system from Ikea, cost me 300.00 for 3.75m long wardrobe, absolutely beatiful!! Though I bought two Antonius wire baskets stands, they are designed for the bathroom originally, but I found tehm really good for my little stuff. So, I got just Stolmen rails and shelves. Very happy.0
