Thanks for starting the thread hot cookie.

Mon Pork and lentil curry from freezer
Tues cheese sandwhich, quisidillas with chicken and cheese with chicken from freezer
Wed chicken and lemon cous cous, pasta bake
Thurs cous cous salad, beef in red wine made already and in freezer
Fri cheese on toast, dh away so beans on toast for me

As you can see using meat which is in the freezer to keep costs down.

Dh had to go out fri last week so managed to convert jerk pork into pork and lentil curry which gave me my dinner and enough to freeze for a meal for two so quite happy. Had this on Monday and dh really liked it so good result there as he does like his meat.

Hoping to pick and freeze last of the blackberries this week with a couple of apples. Thinking about trying hm flapjacks. Usual snacks of fruit, nuts and muffins. Deserts ice cream and fruit and pancakes with lemon or chocolate.

Thanks for the thread, it's reminded me I need to stick properly to my weekday plan [which I've not been doing in quite spectacular fashion recently]. Never mind, fresh start, here we go:

    Mon - Shepherdless pie
    Tue - Risotto
    Wed - Tomatoey pasta
Thu - Something in the SC [probably veg sausage/beany casserole]
Fri - Soup or creamy pasta [we like pasta and have a massive stockpile to put a dent in :rotfl:]
Haven't done the GC since February, but a glance at the Tower of Receipts tells me I really need to get back into it... and plenty of other Challenges besides. :o

Thanks for starting us off, hotcookie. :)

My meal plan for last week went totally out of the window for various reasons :o and I'm not sure what I'm doing for most of the next couple of weeks so my plans are likely to be a bit vague and likely to change:

Right, I've now thought about it properly: :o

Friday - tomato, chard and salami French bread pizza
Saturday - M&S meal deal - breaded plaice, potato rosti and some veg of some sort from my own supplies
Sunday - [STRIKE]honey and ginger pork chop (a special treat from the local butcher) with veg and noodle stir fry[/STRIKE] I wasn't hungry and couldn't find the enthusiasm to cook so I had a sausage sarnie instead :o
Monday - bolognese-stuffed baked marrow with garlic bread
Tuesday - (probably) bean and squash curry (from the freezer) with brown rice
Wednesday - [STRIKE]possibly an omelette or frittata of some kind as I've got a few eggs that need using[/STRIKE] the pork chop meal I didn't have on Sunday
Thursday - [STRIKE]something quick as I'm out in the evening - maybe venison casserole (from the freezer) with pasta or potato gnocchi[/STRIKE] goat's cheese and courgette frittata with potato rosti

[STRIKE]Hmm... I think I might need to come back and tidy that up at some point! ;)[/STRIKE] ;)
Back after a very long break!

I have a lot to do this week with onions from the garden to chop and freeze (lovely crop this year but they've all grown with thick necks so won't store and I'm having to freeze them instead). Also got 5 pounds of plums from a friend to do something with plus some whoopsied apricots and cherries and more foraged blackberries I hope.

So I may find that I have to pull out a meal from the freezer instead of some of my planned meals.

Sat - spinach dahl with brown rice
Sun - roast chicken, mushroom stuffing, carrots, peas, roast potatoes
Mon - cold chicken, new potatoes, green salad (may do a hot veg instead)
Tue - sausage, apple, onion casserole, stirfry cabbage, baked potato
    Wed - kedgeree
Thu - marrow (giant courgette) with chilli mince stuffing & runner beans
Fri - spinach & bacon quiche, tomato salad

I'm just chopping, open freezing, putting in plastic bags, then storing these in a sealable bag. No blanching or sauteing cos I don't have the time.

I don't know whether it will work, never done it before since I normally just store the onions in the pantry.

I'm also hoping the 2 plastic bags will be enough to prevent contamination of the rest of the freezer - I am pretty dubious about this and think I may transfer them into the Chinese takeaway type plastic boxes. But I want to be able to get out a small quantity and think that they would just all freeze into a solid mass in the boxes.

I chop & open freeze mine & store in tupperware to stop the smell. They do stick a little bit but if you bang the box on the worktop they loosen easily.
