help please ( mystery mail )

hi, i often look on this site for info but havent signed up until now and would be glad of any advice on this. I'm posting in this thread as its kind of in the same area and i'm really not sure where to ask this....
ok recently ive started getting many emails about bank accounts i dont have or new accounts being opened in my name and i just put these down to spam mail trying to get me to click and give info.
However in the last few weeks my parents home (where i still have my main bank account listed to and one of my credit cards) has started getting mail addressed to people we have never heard of at their address.
First it was from the benefits people in Belfast which was put back in the post with "not known at this address" written on the envelope.
Then a delivery of 2 desks arrived which were again in someone elses name but my parents address plus it had a second address which makes me think maybe theyre using this as a billing address somehow but having items delivered elsewhere. My parents insisted the driver take them away with him as they hadnt ordered, something the driver was not happy about and kept trying to get them to take the desks in.

Another benefits agency letter arrived and i opened it as i suspect possible fraud and it was concerning a change of address for someones income support payments and being as that can be paid direct into a bank account i am wondering if someone is using the address to claim. My father rang the number on the letter and the guy he spoke to said it wasnt his department so put it back in the post.

Next theres a letter from the HSBC about an insurance policy that has been opened and listed as this address and "changes to your insurance policy" the name however was different from the previous letters and it doesnt say what type of policy it is for.

All this is in the last few weeks and its making me naturally suspicious that someone is up to something but i'm not sure what we can do. Any advice on this would be very welcome as i'm worried this could result in a problem for my parents.

Sorry if this will need moving to another area, i just couldnt see an obvious place to post it :)

Don't worry. Unless letters start arriving in your name you don't know about you have nothing to worry about -- more the inconvenience of having delivery drivers.

Credit reports are based on an individual and not an addrees so that will not be harmed.

Keep RTS the letters or throw them in the bin.

I thought credit links to an address DID have a bearing on credit score, even if those links were in another name?

    No thats not right.

Credit report is to an individual, not an address. Although it does list linked/previous addresses you've lived at on.

So if the credit is not in your name, its not on your credit report.
