Picasa - help needed

I recently got a new PC and loaded onto it a load of photos I had around the place on external hds etc. I thought I would tidy them up using Picasa and I downloaded it OK. So far so good.

All the photos are .jpegs on my PC and arranged in subject folders. When I open a folder and click on one of the photos to edit it, in Picasa, it immediately starts reloading the entire set of all the photos on my pc, which takes a long time. it does this every time I try to edit a photo.

How do I stop it doing this?

Open Picasa, then Tools>Folder Manager, select the location folders of where your photos are and change the green tick (scan once) or the "eye" symbol (scan always) to a red cross (remove from Picasa), then click OK.

Then you can just import into Picasa individual photos as you are doing now, without importing everything, hope that helps?
