Daughter cracked ipod 4 screen!

Daughter's ipod 4 is about 4 weeks old and she fell with it in her hand and badly cracked/smashed bottom left corner. The display is still working and doesn't seem to have affected it working.

I assume best plan is to go to apple store and ask for the cost of repairing the screen?

Is it possible she's just cracked the digitiser in front of the screen? It might turn out cheaper than you think.

It looks like shattered glass, small bits have come out. I have read the repair will cost between £75 and £125 so she loses her pocket money for a good long while.

Do you have accidential cover on your contents insurance?

I have protected no claims bonus on my contents and can make one claim without it affecting my premiums, (a god send as my DS laptop fell off a drawer unit recently, the castor leg came away).

Worth considering if its an expensive repair and your excess is low.

Not to hijack the topic but which company says you can claim once a year and it won't affect your premium?

I'll have to check insurance but don't think its covered for accidental damage.

Always nice to hear the outcome of these threads and top service from Apple.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world
