From memory there are 3 different PSP packs avaliable

Basic - contains just the PSP
Value - PSP, 32mb memory stick, wrist strap, slip case, headphones
GIGA - Same as Value pack but you get a 1gb memory stick instead

Think I have mentioned what you get in every package but not 100% sure so you may want to double check the contents of the package on the net

Just like one you would use in a digital camera

I think the PSP uses "memory stick pro duo" Sony make them but not sure if any other companies make them
  • Sony and sandisk are the main ones. Sandisk ones are generally better, but there are so many fake memory sticks flying around if you want a 1GB one you'd be better off buying a giga pack. If you have a card reader you could put the memory stick in it, with a memory stick duo adaptor.

For your son to be able to save games he will want a memory card, only needs to be the 32meg card.

But if he wants to copy films and mp3s onto it, a larger card would be needed.

1gb is fine, but be aware that you can buy them for £25 from play.com

So if you can find a value pack for £25 less than a gigapack, buying the memory card separately would be the way forward.
