Does anyone know of any good desktops on the market at the moment.
I was thinking about a Dell, do they have a special time for a sale.
Just for home use.
Thank You.

By home use, i'll guess browsing, music casual gaming. A pentium D or an AMD X2 series processor would be good. Maybe one of the dell E520's you can customise to fit your needs. I'd upgrade the processor to the one £17 more. Cut down the cover to 1 year collect and return, and if it suits your tastes you can get a 19 inch over a 17 inch with the money you've saved from cutting the cover. I customised this, and it's £507. You could upgrade the graphics or tone down the RAM, but i'd get that.

What's your budget?
Do you need a complete system including monitor, mouse, keyboard or do you just need a base unit to use with existing accessories?
What do you want to do with it? Internet, Email, Games, Word Processing, Video editing? Home use covers a lot of things these days. If you can be more specific people will be better abel to advise you.
What NintendoSensei has recommended is a decent enough machine except for the Graphics, if you want to be ableto play games you will require better graphics. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
My budget would be around £300-£450 give or take.BillScarab wrote:What's your budget?

I am the only person who will use the computer for things such as, Internet, Email, Digital camera and download music onto CD's.
All just a learning curve for me. At present I use a Dell Latitude laptop which a friend gifted to me when he bought a new one. It runs very very slow.
I would like to buy a computer that would last me for a long time if that is possible.
Can't get the link to the above Dell site.
