Do Tesco have a Price Promise?

Well... do they? I have had a quick google and found nothing apart from something to do with fuel, but this isn't about fuel....

Is this what you mean.....there's a whole stream of serious R&Rs out there

    No not R&Rs.

I was on about if you find something cheaper else where sort of thing... thatprice promise. Not if they over charge you.

Sorry...my misunderstanding. In that case, I don't think they do offer this service (but will happily be proved wrong if someone else knows differently)

They certainly used to as I remember the advert for it. Dottie (Prunella Scales) had just been to Tesco but the Jane Horrocks character had mistakenly done the shopping too in another supermarket. Dottie checked the receipt and found one item was cheaper so marched back to Tesco and was give "double the difference" which turned out to be a 2p coin.

I know the got rid of their price promise on petrol so maybe they got rid of the one on shop items - best to ask in store. Their Tesco Express are always dearer than elsewhere so it would be stupid to promise the cheapest prices.

It wasn't the easiest to get, you had to buy the items in Tesco and within 7 days have purchased the same item cheaper in another supermarket and take both receipts in to get them to give you the 2x the difference.

ASDA will price match another supermarket offer/price if you have a leaflet/advert with it on apparently.

    Thanks for that guys.

I was only asking because I ususlaly shop at Tesco over other supermarkets unless I fancy a few things that Tesco don't do.

Went into Morrison's last night for some bread, found mini eggs at £2.99, the huge big 400g bag, in Tesco they're £3.19. Not fussed abotu double the difference but seeing as I usually stock up on Mini eggs to last me the year... it adds up fast!

I remember that advert you mention firespire, I take both receipts - if I can find them - and see what they say.
