Hi guys,
Well just my OH an mp3 player and have a load of tunes on itunes. They are on my computer in my music folder, but they are in M4A files and will not go onto her mp3 player. Is there an easy way to convert all the files into mp3 files.
Thanks
Paul

Can you do this on the free version or do you have to pay for the pleasure??

If they are m4a....then you must have itunes....so use itunes to do it.

Winamp is free and you just need to install the relevant plugins to input m4a files & output mp3 files. Once you've installed winamp, right-click anywhere in it & choose 'preferences'. click on 'input' & then on 'get plugins' - search for 'nullsoft mp4' & install that. Next, click on 'output' & again 'get plugins' - there are loads of mp3 writers but I found 'chun-yu's mp3 writer' - install that & start reading the 'how-to's' - it's fairly straight forward but a bit of trial & error will get you sorted.0

I always go to https://www.tucows.com where you can find lots of free and shareware software. Great for all kinds of stuff especially converting music files. I've got Itunes and it can be a pain but it's straightforward enough using software, if I can find a link to the software I use, I'll post it later.Consider anything only don't cry!0

You don't need any additional software to do this - go into iTunes preferences and change your 'Importing' preference to MP3 at the bitrate you desire. Go back to your music library - press crtl-a (assuming you're on a PC, if it's a mac then press command-a) to select all your music. Right-click. One of the options will be 'Convert selection to MP3'. Choose it. Wait. Ta-da! ;-)

That's fine for importing but not for converting the downloads from Itunes. I just play the track and use Audacity to record what the soundcard is playing and then convert to MP3.0 -

Don't know if it's different for songs as I don't buy any, but I download podcasts all the time and a lot of them download in M4A format.
I click on the podcast in ITunes, click on Advanced at the top, then click on Convert selection to MP3.

My version doesn't allow that with downloaded tracks.0
