Is claimed 14 hours battery life really achievable on this 6-cell netbook?

Samsung claim up to 14 hours battery life on this model yet it only has a 6 cell battery. Other netbooks with the same power-efficient N450 Atom processor are only claiming 4 hours for a 3 cell battery. So, do they mean 14 hours with the machine powered up but not running anything?

Hi
I have a Samsung NC10 with a 6-cell battery. I can get 10 hours battery life if the wireless is turned off and am word processing/using Word.
which Samsung netbook is it?Sealed Pot Challenge No 089-Finally got a signature.:rotfl::j0 -
They probably mean with the maximum battery saving mode activated - the CPU and pretty much everything is throttled down, screen brightness low etc... It's like mobile phone battery life or car manufacturers mpg figures: best taken with a pinch of salt! Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0

Considering some of the laptops I sell which are 5 year old designs with Core Duo CPUs managed 10hrs on 8 cell batteries, I can see that they do have a valid claim however as usual it will dependant on wifi, bluetooth, screen brightness and CPU usage.0

Mine reckons 4 hours at maximum performance, and usually manages it with the 6 cell battery. I never run at maximum battery life, you can't see the screen it's so dim. It'll last a few hour playing music though, but no more than 5.
It may well last 14 if you don't use it, and let it hibernate.0 -
