Wow, a whole extra 9p, how will we ever stretch our budgets? If you really so poor that 9p is an issue, surely a Gregg's sausage roll is a luxury you can live without whether it's 55p, 83p or even £1.We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

Mmmmmm sounds lovely - could do with a bit of vacuum recovered vertabrae & some floor sweepings as a binding agent?
Have to say me and mine do eat 'em though - and only £2.00 for 4 where I live I think!
Better than burning the roof of your mouth off on one of their cheese n onion pasties! :mad:0 -

I sometimes work in Leeds and on the walk from the Metropole Hotel to Lovell Park I walk past seven branches of Greggs. They must love their sausage rolls in Leeds.0

Actually this is pure ignorant speculation by the MSE Food Polis. Mention anything from MacD's, BK, KFC, Subway and Greggs and the holier than thou appear to cast aspersions and superiority.
We expect sausages and sausage rolls to be mechanically recovered bits of meat ranging from lips to anuses. But Greggs only use 100% Danish pork shoulder and belly to make their products:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1305294/The-bakers-ate-High-Street-Jane-Fryer-discovers-Greggs-recipe-success.htmlBut as I'm here, I feel I should. So what is inside a Greggs sausage roll? Is it the porcine equivalent of a chicken nugget - full of mashed up bone, brain, hoof and toe? 'Absolutely not!' exclaims Nigel, appalled.
'It's prime minced pork from Denmark.' Really? Just meat? 'Yes - pork shoulder and pork belly, all mixed in, just like you'd get in the butcher,' he says, rushing me into a hairnet and white coat, through to the grandly-named Savoury Production Facility and up to an enormous metal container full of very pink, very finely minced pork.
' And that's it? 'Yes, plus a sack of rusk to make it all stick together and our secret recipe seasoning pack to give it that special Greggs flavour. Come and have a look at it all being minced in.'
There's also a Guardian article on Greggs if the DM is not lesbian enough for the MSE Food Polis. The man without a signature.0 -
