Help with Creda Tumble Dryer Please.

Please can someone tell me how to get the outer case off of my Creda Excel Tumble dryer. it rotates and blows but no heat so I think it must be the thermostats, I have taken the back off but the thermostats are not there so I need to get inside it, I have unscrewd the cabinet but still can't lift it off, it seems to be held behind the facia, I have read a book that say's some machines have screws behind the knob so I have tried to pull that off but it won't budge. Does anyone know how to get into this.

Thanking you Drinda.

it will probably be the heating element ..i would say if you're not capable of working out how to get the sides or top off ..don't touch this part..its not for you.. ..get someone in .

Hi Mark, My husband worked for the LEB for 45 Years but this is a puzzle, the Top and sides are all in one, we have a repare manual for washing machines and tumble dryers and that says the holding screws are behind the dial so one would assume that you have to pull the dial off to get to the screws but pulling the dial off is not that easy, the dryer is in very good condition otherwise, the cheapest quote for repare was abt £85 pound plus Vat he said he will have to look at it first I would just buy a new one. Thanks anyway.

anyway ..if the top does come off ..there are usually two screws at the rear that hold it on.

you asked about this in march this year on this forum

Hi Markj yes I did ask a few months ago and then someone was going to look at it for me, but didn't.

With this model the back comes off easy, but the sides and top are all in one so you have to remove the 3 pieces as one, all the visable screws are removed, but it is still held where the top meets the front facia near the on/off timing dial.

Hi I have now got a solution to get my tumble dryer fixed, a young electrician is going to do it in exchange for me altering his new issue work trousers that's a bargain, thanks everyone.
