Hi Just wondering if anyone can give me advice, I got a carpark ticket in a New Aldi Supermarket for being 11minutes over 1 and half hours time allocated.
The parking charge notice looks really official it is from a company called Parking Eye?
I have read on the forum to just ignore letters shall I do this or shall I pay?
Confused and skint 3 kids uniforms to buy?
Help Sue!!!

It may look "official", but actually it's a private parking company trying to fool people into paying up. Parking Spy are well known on here and can safely be ignored. Do no contact them and disregard any correspondence you receive from them.
Finally, it's not a "fine", it's a worthless invoice.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

It is really official ..offical bullsh&t. Parking Eye like all private companies have no right whatsoever to "fine" you.
Ignore them but be prepared to get a load of threatening letters from them and their debt collectors.
Point to note :
Parking Eye can not fine you.
Debt Collectors are private citizens with no powers in law, despite what they might tell you and they will NOT visit your home.
Only the driver is liable NOT the keeper which is who they will write to.
You are NOT obliged to tell them who was driving but they will LIE and tell you that you must.
If you need reassurance or more info come back.
If you can be bothered I would make it known to the store manager that you won't shop there in future as you don't appreciate being harassed because you did more shopping than they allow !!!!0 -
If you have a woodburner then you will be receiving some free fuel through the post from Parking Eye.
Meanwhile, please feel free to sign the petition to change the law and stop DVLA selling your details. It can be found HERE.Never Knowingly Understood.

The only way these companies can enforce any payment is through the county court but other peoples posts indicate you get bombarded with demands and even what purport to be solicitors letters. Its highly unlikely to go to court due to costs but of course you can never be sure.
Anybody can get registered keeper details from DVLA on payment of a fee - the police don't supply anything to private companies.
I got a charge notice today in an ASDA car park alleging I was parked in a Disabled Bay which I hadn't. I was adjacent to the bays but not in one. If these clowns think I am going to pay them £60 they can think again. I have written to them (didn't give them my address they can pay for those details from DVLA) inviting them to take the matter to court as that is the only way they will get anything out of me. ASDA may try and wash their hands of the matter but the car park is their property and they give out the parking contracts, I have told them I will not be shopping at their store until they get shot of this company and its lying employees.
If you were in Aldi shopping then you have no reason to pay the ticket - try speaking to the store manager you may get mores sense out of him or her.0 -
Ignore Parking Spy, but do check the planning terms of the car-park at the local council to see if Aidl are breaking the terms by enforcing a 90 minute limit.0

Surely, if it is their car park - they can aspire to any time limit they require. It isn't a matter for the Council.0

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -

That's what Aldi thought this year. They were wrong:
clicky
Always worth checking what the planning consent says - sometimes it allows customers to park and leave the site (as in the linked case) and to stay for several hours. Councils do this to help with parking for customers of smaller shops in the area. Supermarkets cannot just ignore it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A shame they weren't fined £60,000.0
