    Xmas Saver!
I am happy to report that today I harvested 2 decent sized courgettes, and have a far few growing at the moment. I even have some flowers only budding, so hope to keep getting them for a few weeks yet!
  • With 5 courgette/crook necked plants I have not had too many to eat (in fact not enough!). Since 2 normally gives me too many, I thought that I was being stupid keeping so many, but as I was doing nothing else with the space I thought that I could hand them around... fat chance!!!
I have also found the runner beans to be bad - not loads and not getting very big before going hard and the seeds enlarging.
I had loads of insects (2 bee nests amongst others!!), but the cold and variable dry/wet must have taken their toll :(

Mine, too have been rubbish this year. The past 2 years we have been giving bags of them away and if you turn your back they became huge overnight. This year, between 4 plants I have had maybe 10 little ones! And we love courgettes!
Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

Not had too many this year & I assumed it was lack of rain. The leaves look like they have had windolene thrown over them, big white splotches.

Nothing like the usual harvest this year I was beginning to think I might have to buy courgettes (wash my mouth out) but I have a few ripening now. Sweetcorn was a dead loss this year but was great for onions, cucumber and squash - ho hum

The experts at the plot reckon it is the weather not enough sun and rain this year just damp and dull.

ETA just seen Newbie alert - that is very cool ha ha ha
