specialist high risk post code car insurers

Trying to insure a car in M16 manchester postcode has gone crazy.

For a 35 year old male health professional with 8 years no claims bonus and driving a 1999 VW polo worth £500 the cheapest quote found so far from wide searching is £1400. Two years ago it was £500 a year to insure. I wouldn't mind if it was a rough area - but it is not.

Off road parking/low yearly mileage/domestic use only - makes no difference to quote. It is high simply because of the postcode.

I suppose what I am asking is, does anyone know of an insurance broker or a specialist insurance service that covers postcodes that have been so vicously discrimnated against by insurance companies it makes it virtually impossible to get insurance at a reasonable rate.

Best option would be to phone several brokers in Manchester. They must know which Insurers are currently offering the best rates in your area.

I would try brokers Adrian Flux Insurance. They were great with us and saved us money. Go to their on line site.

Manchester is hideous for insurance due to large amounts of fraud (staged "accidents"). There isn't much you can do about this except move to Sheffield.

yeah i would have thought it would be more about the higher premiums due to insurance fraud rather than a postcode rating.

some buildings insurance have brokers who do not rate by postcode so maybe try and do a search for an company who doesn't rate by area you live.
i have a family member who's insurance has recently risen, we haven't moved house and obv shes been driving longer that she did when she first took the policy, she has no claims as well
