No. Many times a compromise agreement is just a way of avoiding an ET which costs money to defend whether they are in the right or not. £5k is much less than the staff time faffing about with it, and a solcitior, cost.

Agreed. Financial services, especially some of the big ones, do this routinely - it is cheaper than the insurance against tribunals!0
