We stayed at Hotel Julian. Excellent room with mini fridge, microwave, small kitchen sink, dining table and chairs and dishes, so you could eat in if you want. We booked direct with hotel.

We stayed in Hotel Maria Prag which is just off Wenceclas Square (about halfway down). It was brand new, or just renovated, and was excellent.

Highly recommended. We booked it through expedia (cashback through quidco!) and flights with BMI Baby from EMA.
  • We have always booked with Prague accomodations (Now called apartments in Prague), it is run by David an american who has bought a lot of appartments in the city.

The appartments are very clean and have everything you need (I needed a fan as it was so hot last summer, they went out and bought one and it was delivered the next day!) The web site is brilliant and efficient with a choice of apartments all over the city from 2 to 6 persons, the booking calendar lets you see which appartments are available and prices depending on season.
The site even lets you know all the local pubs restaraunts, bakeries etc for each appartment, there is also a lot of info in the appartments.
You can even book to have someone meet you at the airport and take you back if you wish!

  • Hi,

Top end for a really special stay but have a look at Hotel Josef. I went there for my Brothers wedding in Dec and have just booked for Feb this year. Extremely special place and very central, just next to the old town square.

Like i said not cheap but I have just booked a superior room for £80 a night which is extremely good. Includes Breakfast and the best service you will get anywhere. Also includes free DVD rental (like you will ever need it) and loads of other bits. They have stuff like blaconies and Waterfall showers etc etc absolutely Brilliant. Chuck Hotel Josef into google and you'll be able to see what i mean...

Randomly, I'm looking at booking the Hotel Josef this afternoon. Best price I can get is 150 quid for 2 nights in standard room at the end of Jan, which isn`t bad - but I'm interested how you managed to get a superior room for £80 a night. Do you remember who you booked though at all?

    Thanks in advance!

If you can secure a decent offer at the Crown Plaza you might want to consider that, for a decent in a spectacular building. It's a little way out of the centre but it's dead easy because Tram 8 stops right outside and runs into Namesty Square in the centre. The tram is dead cheap and runs very late. The hotel is also near the end of the 90 bus line from the airport - about 50p each way. For a restaurant with a difference, great food and service, try https://www.peklo.com, near the Cathedral.
