if you every buy a coffee in starbucks get one of their cards and you can buy coffee beans and get your coffee free, so it can cost you less than a quid depending on the coffee you buy, they will grind them for you. you will need to get one of their starbuck cards but a good deal.

Sorry to pinch your thread but does anyone know of anywhere to buy cheap decaf filter coffee. The cheapest I have found is £2.50 at Asda. Home Bargains don't sell decaff.

I was just looking at the prices of Douwe Egberts (Douwe Egberts is the brand I normally buy at the 99p Store) on mySupermarket.co.uk and see that Douwe Egberts Real Coffee Cafetiere Blend 250g packs are currently selling for £3.14 in most of the supermarkets (£2.68 in ASDA).

After doing the sums I came up with the following:

Douwe Egberts Real Coffee Cafetiere Blend (250g) - £1.26/100g in most supermarkets (ASDA £1.07/100g) - filter blend is also the same price

Same coffee in 99p Store comes in 150g packs at 66p/100g

In other words 250g would surely equal approximately £1.485 if bought in the 99p Store. OK we don't have ha'pennies anymore though that's what I came up with.

Even if you were to buy the 2x250g packets in the supermakets it would still work out cheaper in the 99p Store. 2x250g packets are £5.01 or £1/100g [approximately]. Still a saving of 34p per 100g if bought in the 99p Store.
  • Hi everyone.
    Thanks for all the replies.
I have settled for Lyons ground coffee from the 99p store. Best value and I remember trying it before and it being fine.

    99p/175g= 56.57p/100g or £1.28/227g
