Evening
I was just wondering would we be getting an official bill/receipt from our Solicitor who dealt with the sale of our flat and the purchase of our house?
We moved out / moved in August 1st and haven't heard a thing.
Is that normal?
Obviously all has been paid but I thought we might get a receipt / breakdown of everything? Will it follow early September? Or do they not do such things?
Stupid question... sorry

Mine provided a completion statement showing all funds received (from me and from the mortgage) and how the funds were used (deposit, stamp duty, solicitor fees, land registry fees etc) and I think that it is normal practice for such a statement to be provided.0

Thank you.
Do you mind me asking if this was quite soon after completion?0 -
It is normal to receive a Completion Statement before Completion. This ensures the solicitor has all the funds they need to pay for the property, the Stamp Duty, estate agent fees..... and their own fees.0

Mine came through a couple of weeks after completion. Which was a bit too long really seeing as there was a cheque for about £20k in it!0

We got an itemized bill between exchange and completion, then the receipt came two days after completing.0

As regards a receipt, how was the balance paid: BACS, cheque, or another means?0
