Neighbour drilling into my external wall!

poppasmurf, thanks for ur response,
one of the thing still in my head is what do i want in the end, and really my answer is just that no damage is being done to my property. don't mind them having a covering at all. i just don't want any problems because of it.
i think i will pluck up the courage to ask them to have a look, and just say i am a little worried about my house. and not mention at all that 1. its not allowed and 2. i'm !!!!ed about it.
and i will ask that they ask me in the future...0 -

Thanks JC.
From the way OP has drawn it is a party wall but what is being described here still won't attract PWA action.
OP - As a party wall it is therefore not "your" wall in its entirety. It is no different from the wall which separates the two houses proper. Would you object if they drilled holes in the wall internally to hang a picture or TV bracket on the grounds that it is "your" wall?
I'm not sure you actually have much say in the matter now. The landlord might but it depends on the "thou shalt not" elements of the lease which isn't anyone's concerned apart from the LL and the tenant.

keystone,
thanks for your response and help with the links others.
my concern is for my property only, basically i was worried that it their DIY was not up to standard and the holes allowed moisture into the wall then there could be damage to my property as possible damp. I have already had some problems with damp walls and do want to make any new problems.
i am young and this is my first home and I'm still learning about owning a home0 -
Yes I understand that and appreciate your concern. Have a look and see if they've installed any form of flashing where the roof joins your wall.
I think it would be reasonable to ask them to do so. If they won't then take it to the landlord but you are really relying on goodwill to get it done.

keystone,
flashing wise, assuming they don't have a clue what they should do, do you have any advice how to make suitable flashing and from what materials. i assume its just to aid the running of the water when it rains?0 -

I have a question. If they did damage to my property. then what would happen? Keystone says that they are allowed to do what they have done. but what if that work causes damage?0

OK you've lost me. If it's the way you have drawn it it's a party wall which means that the boundary goes down the centre of the wall and the bit he's drilled into isn't your property. Of course if the drawing is not correct that might put a different complexion on things. As we've already discussed if the "roof"/wall interface hasn't been sealed by the use of flashing you might possibly get water running down the wall but its his half of the wall not yours. Whilst your concerns are real there are too many "what ifs" and in reality noone can tell from here.
Time to talk to the owner of the property methinks.
