Nonsense. What employer is going to want to employ someone for 2 hours a week? By the time the person has arrived at work, get her coat off, made a cup of tea, they'll be getting ready to leave.

The best thing the OP can do is stick an ad in the local shop window offering cleaning services.

you quoted m reply to the poster who said about a job as a dinner lady for an hour which i said it would depend on th employer but its possible.

You can get a job for 2 hours a week though, found a cleaning job for 2 hours a week yes 2 hours a week for domestic cleaning and its on a self employed basis. It all depends what hours you could work OP, would it be set hours or flexible.
  • Register as self employed and take on an Avon round.

This way you can work as many or as few hours as you want.

Just out of curiousity OP , are you a single Parent ? If you are then yes , 16 hours is "enough" for tax credits but if you are part of a couple then come April you will be required to work 24hours per week to qualify for tax credits....
The loopy one has gone :j

Can you stretch your current employment in any way to be 2 more hours a week?

Even if it means taking a small pay cut to still get paid the same as you do now so drop your hourly rate a little (providing that doesn't take you down below minimum wage)?

I'd say cleaning! Ask your local pubs etc, they'll want someone on weekends or nightly?
    Doctor surgeries etc.

Don't you just need a MINIMUM of 2 hours per week extra? You can work more than 2 hours and still claim working tax up to a certain annual wage

You could do mystery shopping. There is a thread on this site.

You would need to register as self employed though - it is not difficult but it puts some people off.
