How to find a job for 2 hours a week

Hi all
In order to increase my hours to enable me to claim working tax credits, I need to find an additional 2 hours work a week. I'm very flexible and am prepared to accept anything....within reason!!!
Any idea where I can find such work? I'm prepared to be proactive and walk the streets with cv in hand - I have retail experience and finance experience.
All advice will be gratefully received.

How about trying to find work as a carer for elderly or disabled folk. My dad had two carers three times a day to help him get up and get to bed etc. They were only there for a short time and the company were always looking for new carers. Other ideas are bar work or dog walking.
Good luck.0 -

Ive seen cleaning jobs that im sure you could do for 2 hours a week or more hours if you wanted, depends what time of day your after. Cant imagine finding something in retail for 2 hours a week but definitely look at cleaning though. Try direct.gov or local paper for jobs.0

Lunchtime supervisors (dinner ladies) at schools are often just an hour each day you could do two days. Good time to ask as the new term starts!. I know it's not in your field but it's an option!.0

Nonsense. What employer is going to want to employ someone for 2 hours a week? By the time the person has arrived at work, get her coat off, made a cup of tea, they'll be getting ready to leave.
The best thing the OP can do is stick an ad in the local shop window offering cleaning services.0 -

That's exactly what crossed my mind when I said "within reason"...not sure how i'd prove my income to HMRC!!!!
Thank you so much for your replies. I'm going to start scouting for cleaning jobs. Not sure who would want to pay for a cleaner in the current uncertain climate but I'll find somebody0
