Definitely shop around and read the small print. When I was keeping some business stock at home some insurers had no issue with it being covered by my home insurance, as long as I told them about it, and some said they wouldn't cover it. Might be worth speaking to a local broker rather than wading through the online companies, since it's a valuable piece of kit. They'll probably know straight away which companies will allow it.0

Hello
No worries about the LL. We're not running a business; we have day jobs. This is a hobby which we hope to build out. not a business at all. thank you x0 -

It is perfectly possible to be employed during the day, and run a business of your own in your spare time."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
also if your 20K machine is to produce products for you to sell at a profit then this is a business and you must register as self employed with HMRC within 3 months of starting0

many sole traders do this at the start until their business takes off. I have been self employed for 10+ yrs and i still do some freelance work for my ex employer which always help towards the bills.0
