No Sound???

My Pc has an on board sound card, well I think. Anyway I used to run my pc through my hi fi speakers (cable with 2 outputs one end and 1 the other came from a mini disk player) and then when I had no room started using headphones through the front of the pc. I have since put my pc onto my plasma...and maybe thought I would get sound through the plasma speakers...which is not the case! I cant even get sound through the headphones anymore! Sorry to seem daft and stupid but any ideas?

Have you looked in device manager ,then hardware to see whats going on ?
Start,control panel.system,hardware,see if you got any yellow explanation marks on sound audio
Or see when the box comes up that it says its working ok0 -
Or just go into control panel and look in sounds and audio devises.0
