Has anyone experienced difficulty opening an Alliance & Leicester Direct Saver Account? They seem to be yet another organisation overwhelmed by their own success. Can anyone assist with an instant access account(or nearly so) that can better 5.64%?

Experienced no difficulty at all in opening the account but it does take 8 days or so before they set up the DD and request the first payment from your linked account.
If there was another paying the same or more they wouldn't be quite as overwhelmed by their own success so AFAIK - no.0
