Eon E7 meter reading problem
The other day i went to enter my meter reading online, i am currently on economy 7 so i went to put in my day and night reading, but i noticed that the previous readings did not match the readings i just took, it seems as though the readings have been switched so the day reading is appearing on the night one and vice versa. it therefore did not let me enter the reafings.
I rang up E-on and advised the problem and gave the meter readings, the following day i recieved a call from Eon and he advised that the meter readings have been entered wrong, i advised i have never entered meter readings before and any previous readings have been done by yourselves, so he advised the 'data collectors' must have collected it wrong, he advised me to take both readings at 5pm and then again at 6pm so determin which is the day and night reading, he said he would call back tomorrow, i then asked what would happen now as obviously i may have overpaid or underpaid and how does that affect me as i was not the one who took incorrect readings, he said he will call me back tomorrow to take the readings and then take it from there.
guess waht no phone call the next day !! any eon reps here that can help.

Hi Ice Kay,
Yes I'm here.
This sounds like a classic case of transposed reads.
Have you been checking your bills, to ensure previous readings were correct?
The only way to get this corrected is to take the readings as you have done, called spaced readings and have the account re-billed correctly, more specific information would depend on the details of the account.
Let me know if you need any more info.

Well provided them with spaced meter reading and got my bill come in a few days ago i am now in credit of just under £500 !!!
rang them up and asked them to credit 90% off that back inot my bank account.
1 question i ask though is that did they not realise that alot of electricity was being used in a one bedroom flat ???
Thanks for your help Helena !0 -
The bills are generated entirely by computer, they're not then checked by humans.
And how would Eon know the size of your property? No free lunch, and no free laptop0
