You can also get Vintage ones on Ebay from Tupperware. These are huge and ugly but do the job very well.

That looks fantastic...do you think it would work in a normal airtight tub with a homemade draining grid?0 -
I have a Tupperware lettuce keeper. It keeps a lettuce for weeks.0

I usually have good success without buying any special equipment, for lettuce anyway.
All I do is wash and dry the lettuce, then wrap it kitchen paper so that the kitchen paper is a couple of sheets thick. Then I put this in a resealable bag, and squeeze as much air as possible out. The bag goes in the fridge as normal.
This keeps it for up to a week, and it's really crispy. I'm not sure how well it works with 'mixed' salads.0 -
Hi Jenster,
There's an earlier thread with ideas on keeping salad fresh that may help so I've added your thread to it to keep the suggestions together.

Hello, I would like to prepare iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and onion on Sunday for my sandwiches monday - friday. How can I do this and keep them all fresh? Just cop and stick them in a tupaware box?
Any help much appreciated!0 -

I got these for free as part of a special offer I picked up here - it may well have closed now - not sure I'd pay £3 odd for them, but they are good. If you nip round mine, I'll let you have a couple!Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0
