Is it possible to nominate another person to use my account, i.e. withdraw money etc. from the branch?

Depends on the bank.
Ask them.

Yes it is possible. Just ask the bank. My sister can write cheques in my name with her signature and withdraw cash and is not a joint account holder with me.:footie:

] and look at page 27 you will find Paragraph 23 headed Third Party Instructions.
