Woudl like to raise a red flag in relation to Dealtastic.
On the 2nd August, I purchased four items from them in the "carboot sale" deal - thus getting free shipping for my items.
Days went past and no sign of my package arriving. The site said if you do not receive an item in 20 days, you may contact them, and all replies would be returned within 24 hours.
I contacted them on Tuesday (23rd) evening querying where my package was.
They replied this morning (25th) with this in the subject matter;
"Thank you for your email.
I refunded this order has we do not ship to Ireland anymore.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any more questions.
Have a nice day.
Kind regards
Sophie"
Now, my query - why on earth did they not realise when receiving my order, "Oh it's being shipped to Ireland, we don't ship there anymore, better refund" - were they hoping I would not get in touch and thus they would keep the money?
Just wanted to set out a warning - I'm furious over this, especially as two of the items were for something special. Pathetic.

Perhaps the decision to stop shipping to Ireland was made between your ordering and subsequent email of the 23rd. They might well have contacted you but you happened to mail before they'd done it. It's not the most likely of scenarios but it's possible.
When did they refund you? This might be reading too much into it, but 'I refunded you' suggests an action already taken as opposed to 'I have refunded you' (as a result of your email). They might have refunded you days before your mail, i.e. when the decision to stop shipping to Ireland was made."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Hiya,
thanks for the reply - I received the refund at 12.35 today, and the email at 12.36 today - so she was correct in saying she has refunded me, but very misleading in the way she wrote the email about it - I hadn't picked up on that wording until you pointed it out there
Perhaps it just slipped through the net - I'm aware everyone makes mistakes, but it still seems a little fishy to me so thought it best to raise the flag in case any other out-of-UK shoppers were on here.0 -
would be more interested to hear if they meant "Ireland" as in South of Ireland or Ireland as in the North which is in the United Kingdom (of Great britain and Northern Ireland...) in which case its a bit mean as carriage is still the same for us, I've ordered on a number of occasions and not had any problems myself. No two ways about this one: Anything Free is not a Basic Right..it had to be earned...by someone, somewhere0

I'm in the Republic
Never ordered from them before this.0
