What motivates you long term and short term to keep on paying off the debt?

Options
Long term for me, it's just generally getting some decent savings together and the financial security that comes along with that - and knowing I'm going to make sure my kids have a secure future, money for uni, learning to drive, first car, weddings etc.. as well as preparing my children and educating them to plan and budget and pay bills. Both things my parents never did for me.

Short term, we've just cleared both our Next account this week and closed them and are on course to clear a credit card with the smallest balance before christmas - and then some serious snowballing starts to kick into action, and gets even more serious the beginning of next year when my husband has a large loan finishing - I really can't wait to see those numbers going down, but for now, it's helped emotionally to clear 2/3 accounts/debts/creditors before the year is out - a real boost.. :T

In the short term - just being able to pay everything off and keep on an even keel. Being able to treat the kids occasionally.

Mid-term , we would like to buy a camper van (a cheap one off ebay) so we can take kids arond Europe camping. This is when DMP is paid off.

Long- term, we would one day like to own a house again or be able to pay for kids to go to Uni, or get married etc

Long term - financial security. We SHOULD be very comfortable with both of our salaries. A good credit record will be very nice to have should we ever consider moving to a bigger house.:D

Short term - I'm a sucker for the kick I get from debt busting or securing a low full and final settlement. I love the "one down - 400 to go" scenario!

short term it's to pay off my ccs one by one and to never use them again.
my real goal is to achually have money in the bank instead of always being overdrawn.
long term i'm looking forward to not having to worry about bills.to know i have money put away for anything that might go wrong.
i want to be able to spend money when i see little things i like without feeling guilty about it.
