Putting films onto Video ipod

Is there an easy way to do this? I have downloaded a couple of programs hoping I could just compress and transfer the films but no such luck I keep getting an error.

What methods do you use to get your films onto your ipod?

It's really easy to use, free, and does exactly what it says on the tin!
