Claim for accident I was completely unaware of. Where do I stand?

    In that case I'm with you, I would write a letter of complaint to the insurance company stating that the third party have not proved the damage that they are claiming for and cannot show without doubt that it was you or your car. And inform your insurance company that you have not agreed to the validity of the claim, hence they must reinstate your NCD etc.

    Just spoken to them again. They are not willing to accept that there is nothing that says that the picture of the door is of my car door. Thay have asked if I am willing to go to court over it but obviously with the whole "Balance of probability" they won't accept my dispute of the evidence provided and I will then be liable for costs as well.

    Oh well, time to write a letter of complaint, threaten to complain to FOS and put my car on Auto Trader. The price of honesty eh.

    Have you measured the height of your door handle and compared it to where the mark is on the TP's car or similar?
