You seems to be particular about web presence probably because it is internet based business.

    2) You still need to register with company house unless you intend to evade tax which is a criminal offense.

There must be some sort or subliminal message broadcast with the adverts of Daz that goes something like "you have to register a business, you have to register a business. you have...."

Otherwise how can posters keep on saying this. It seems to be stated authoritatively in nearly every second thread in this forum and every other business forum on the www.

There are a whole host of things you have to do when you trade, but this you do not need to do. You have to pay personal income tax on your profit. You have register for VAT if you have a turnover over £73,000, etc.

Registering a business with Companies House is only for Ltd Companies and other special types of company set-up

I meant, if i need to register with Company House, do i register it with them as COMPANYNAME or being that its a web based company, do i register it as COMPANYNAME.CO.UK

Whatever you like - you can even be ninjajameater ltd then trade as companyname.co.uk. Easiest will be just registering as companyname ltd (without the .co.uk) though :-)
