Cheapest way to get to Edinburgh from Midlands ASAP?

Does anyone know what the cheapest way to get to Edinburgh from the Midlands would be tomorrow/Friday?
I'd only need a single ticket, but if a return was only a bit more, I wouldn't mind!
I can find train tickets for like £35 but they're quite long and flights seem a lot more expensive... I hoped there would be some decent last minute deals.
Thanks

Bargains and the busiest weekend in Edinburgh of the summer do not go together. £35 sounds quite reasonable0

I don't think you can expect to get a cheap ticket on bank holiday weekend which isn't 'a bit long', as the longer routes are often cheaper for that reason.0

£35 is dirt cheap for a last minute booking.0
