Another Directline customer here :T I had a right off 2 years ago, bad road no one else involved thankfully, they handled everything quickly and efficiently and paid me more than I thought the car was worth, I had protected no claims and the following year, my quote came down :) Just renewed again this year amid the insurance hike panic everyone is having and my quote went up £20 to £270 fully comp for me and OH :T You will really struggle to find a better company for insurance IMHO.
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

Autoline are advertising at the moment and promise to beat any quote you receive by 10%. Definitely worth a try as worked for me!

I found Direct Line to be the worst. Came in at over £1100 for me (a 7 yo Mondeo with protected NCB), last years insurer M&S were nearly £600 (up from £410) so went with the AA which came in at £475.

my advice - just ring around loads.
I have never found that my existing insurer is the cheapest the following year.
Also try increasing the excess to see if this bring the premium down and also try to blag free breakdown cover if you can!
  • I used Tesco insurance for a few years as they always seemed to be the cheapest. Went up by about £100 at my last renewal and ended up going with LV who were the cheapest by miles, only about £230 fully comp plus £20 off quidco. Definitely worth while looking around!
  • Thanks guys, directline gave me a great quote, only to be beaten by easyinsure......down to £337!! Great advice as always...... :)
