The date on the letter is correct i have had a lot of personal family problems resulting in a severe loss of income (which i wont go into ). The car i have is a KIA Sedona 04 plate. My neighbour has offered me £3000 for it for which i cannot sell due to the property not being mine but it would go towards the debt against the car but legally the car would not be his as the dect would still be mine and he does not want to take on the finance either from me.

You really need to discuss this situation with the finance company.

It's very sad when things happen to you personally leaving you in these situations, but by sitting on the fence about it you are not helping yourself and destroying your credit report, which will affect you for years to come!

If you telephone them and explain your neighbough wishes to purchase the car they may be able to assist you. Then allow you to continue with your finance agreement for the remaining amount.

Failing that if your struggling financially i'm sure they would want to make alternate arrangements with you and therefore receiving some, if not all, of the money owed rather than having to chase you for the debt.

Thanks for the information. My agreement is now being dealt by Allied International Credit, do i contact them or Proton Finance to discuss payments?

Allied International Credit are a debt collection agency so you should be able to negotiate a payment plan for the outstanding balance. You will need to contact Proton Finance do discuss selling the car. Sometimes companies refuse to discuss a debt once it has been passed to a collection agency.

Even now you still haven't got it sorted? I fear you will keep sitting on the fence until one day a baliff comes to your home with a court order.
