Blockbuster charging for Extra Night Option

Hi everyone

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, but wondered if someone could help me.

I have recieved a letter today from Blockbuster saying that the 2 DVD's we rented were overdue and we now owe them £10! It states that we rented them out on 23/07 and returned them on 30/07

This is not the case, we posted them back the day after (when we were supposed to) It says that if we dont pay within 20 days, then they will pass our account onto iQor UK Ltd!

I know its only £10 but thats not the point, I have rang them and their refusing to budge on the matter! I'm not sure where I can go from here so any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you :)

leave them and go to tesco dvd rental- this never happens with them.

I pay £14.97 per month and get three disks at a time and can watch as many as I want without time limits. There are cheaper packs available starting at £4.97.
  • Plus you get points! :T

I'll look into them as Blockbuster have gone down hill now!

    Thanks Worried Jim :)

I was under the impression that BB online rental was also unlimited time, mine certainly is.

Does anybody else think that Blockbuster are slightly misleading in their adverts (for instore rentals) stating that they have 'no more late fees' when charging £1 per night after the 'due date' is still technically a 'late/overdue fee' that is in fact much more expensive than how they used to do it?

I had something similar from Blockbusters. A letter asking for £10 and stating I'd returned a disc late. I phoned up, advised that I'd returned both discs (I'd rented two) the next day, using their drop box.

They were completely OK, said immediately that mistakes occasionally happened and told me to ignore the letter.

Touting for business is not allowed at all is it? I thought companies (with permission to post) could only respond to peoples comments, not advertise their services?

You're correct, mind you I said he should "seek" permission to post not that he'll actually get it though ;)
  • They wouldn't even let me take a DVD out as my address is "blacklisted"!!
