    Bypass the branch and send the R85 (possibly along with a covering note explaining your situation) to LTSB BRT Unit, 1 City Road East, Manchester, M15 4PU.

    Where it will be returned to the customer as a NI number is required!
    He is not eligible for gross interest!
    I bet HSBC will do the same thing.
