Blackhorse PPI Claims turned down

New to MSE. Could anyone please advise what to do? I have submitted three claims for PPI on three loans with BH. Received a standard response today saying you signed the agreement etc you were told you had 30 days to cancel the insurance etc. Thing is at the time I already had another individual policy which would have covered all my outgoings at the time with a company called Swiss Life. I think if I had been asked if I needed the insurance with the loans the answer would have been...NO! I have replied today saying that I do not agree with their findings. None of the loans are covered by the Obudsman as they were 2002. 2003 2004. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wait and see if you get a different response this time, what extra info did you give them this time for them to reconsider?.

I explained in my response why I didn't agree with their decision. They had already been given details of the seperate cover I had with Swiss Life which I took out in 2002. All three responses were identical from BH as to the reason why the claims were being turned down. I did however remember that one of the loans was for a car and the loan was taken out through them, so I never spoke to anyone from BH. Although in the letter the stated that THEY would have given me all the correct information etc. So as for a thorough investigation I think not..I will await their response.
  • Hi Richie, I've just had my claim rejected with a wishy washy 2 page letter explaining I'd 30 days to cancel the cover. They also redirected me to the FLA as they weren't covered by the FOS in 2004 when I took out the loan. I rang FOS to clarify this, they suggested I get the name of the underwriter which would enable them to consider the complaint. I rang BH who told me it was Genworth Financial. Next step FOS with a copy letter to BH...:(
