Anybody remember 3 1/2 floppies?
They used to have switches on them to physically prohibit writing to the disk.
Has anybody invented a usb stick that does this?
Now that would be a good idea...

yeah they exist alright, but they are pretty uncommon and often come at a premium.0

NOt personally aware of one, but there is security software which will prevent access to the files on the usb stick (I know, not quite the same thing is it!)
What about a usb stick that doesn't have it's own memory - you insert an SD card into it to give it's memory. An SD card can be protected by the little switch thing.
Not as simple as the floppy idea but at least you'll be able to fit more than half an Mp3 song on it...0 -
