USB stick making my PC freeze!

I have bought a USB since a while to store things on (obviously!), it's a 1gb Buzbi one.
But every time I lug it in, it causes my PC to freeze, and I have to switch it off using the 'off' button (which I know is very naughty).
This is getting on my nerves, as I hate it when it freezes, and I also feel I've wasted my money on this memory stick.
Any ideas what I could do?

Did you have any drivers on a cd or disk supplied?
Does it do the same thing on a different PC?
It might be a one off with a fault, try returning it to the supplier or manufacturer for a replacement.

Thanks for your replies.
My OS is Windows XP, but using the Welsh language pack.
When I was installing the drivers, it froze for hours and hours, so it's possible it hasn't installed fully or correctly. The problem is... I bought it months ago, so finding the receipt would be near to impossible.
Yes, I know I should be more organised!!
Any way to 'over-ride' this freezing?0 -
You don't normally need to install drivers when using XP. Check for any Yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I wonder if the freezing is because it draws too much current from the motherboard ??
a self powered usb hub may be the answerEx forum ambassador
