What you do is ignore them and do not contact them. And it's not a FINE. Please read the "stikies" at the top of this forum for further reassurance regarding private parking tickets.

I received a ANPR from Excel Parking services limited for 'parking with displaying a valid ticket / permit' however I, the registered keeper was not driving, it was my sister who entered the car park to drop someone off (10 seconds) and then again an hour later to collect them, again for about 10 seconds?

    Am I right to ignore?

It grates on my nerves so much that Supermarket's allow these criminals to attempt to extract money from their (ex)customers for no reason whatsoever other than the fact that they spent too long (more than X hours) in their store?
I mean, what kind of logic is that? Ignore these muppets. lpoollid, DON'T even bother entering into correspondence with them, this will only result in additional letters form them, aside from the usual threatening toilet paper they will send you. If you get nerved by their empty threats, just put them in the bin, set them on fire.... just don't respond!

Actually just spoke to my dad and he said it was in fact him that drove that day, but ticket machine was out of order, and he called number on machine and the person on other end said its fine, they know about it. I am going to ignore but I am thinking that there must of been many cars that day and if Excel Parking send each one of them a fine (approx 20 cars) more than half would probably pay due to the threat of bailiffs/debt collectors

Glad to hear you're ignoring, and you're right, the sad fact is that most people fall for this scam; the words "court" and "bailiffs" sufficient to scare them into paying. That's why, a word to the wise, you should TELL AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE ABOUT THIS SCAM. Spreading knowledge is the only way we can rid society of these parasites. :T
